Comprehensive Neurologist - Bringing the Outpatient & Academic World Together

The Department of Neurology is seeking a Comprehensive Adult Neurologist to join our dynamic team in a hybrid role that includes both clinical and academic components. This position will involve working in an outpatient clinic, focusing on improving access for new patients and supporting the growth targets of our Neuroscience Service Line.

Locations: Hiring for 2 locations 

  • Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Neurology - Shepherd: 500 Shepherd St, Suite 300, Winston-Salem, NC 27103
  • Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Neurology - High Point: 624 Quaker Ln Ste D201, High Point, NC 27262 

Position Details:

  • The role involves a commitment to improving access for new patients and supporting the Neuroscience Service Line's growth objectives.
  • The role entails all commitments within Clinic with the added academic component to train and mentor residents and medical students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality outpatient care to adult patients with a variety of neurological conditions.
  • Manage large groups of established patients with chronic neurological disorders, ensuring continuity of care.
  • Collaborate closely with Primary Care Physicians (PCPs) to co-manage complex cases and facilitate seamless patient referrals.
  • Quickly evaluate and diagnose new patient referrals from PCPs, implementing appropriate treatment plans and follow-up care.
  • Participate in academic activities, including teaching and mentoring residents and medical students.
  • Engage in clinical research initiatives aimed at advancing knowledge and treatment in the field of neurology.
  • Contribute to departmental growth strategies and service line initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) with board certification in Neurology.
  • Strong clinical skills with experience in outpatient neurology.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Commitment to academic medicine and teaching.
  • Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing healthcare landscape and workflow.
