JOB SUMMARY Creates the Starbucks Experience for WFBMC customers by providing legendary customer service with prompt service, quality beverages, products, and maintains a clean and comfortable store environment.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Previous Barista experience preferred, previous customer service experience required; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. 

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, and/or REGISTRATION:  Complete training and obtain Barista certification with a score of 90%.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Prepares a variety of customer beverage orders such as espresso drinks and coffee of the day to Starbucks standards.
  2. Prepares all beverages to standard and hands out quality drinks every time.
  3. Follows policies and procedures for operational flow at each station.
  4. Follows established safety standards using safe food handling guidelines.
  5. Maintains a clean work area and immediate surrounding area.  Follows inventory stocking and recording guidelines.
  6. Presents oneself professionally and demonstrates clear communication by using Star Skills with all customer and partner interactions. 
  7. Follows cash handling and register procedures.
  8. Follows Customer Service Standards by utilizing upgraded language such as, my pleasure, yes Ma’am/sir, genuine smile and eye contact.
  9. Follows standards for merchandising, stocking, rotating and storing all products.
  10. Performs equipment maintenance in accordance with preventative maintenance checklist.
  11. Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center policy, procedures, training and Team Member involvement activities. 
  12. Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

Consistent attendance and punctuality

Ability to follow instructions

Ability to learn and comply with cash register system and procedures

Ability to adjust to the needs of the department

Desire to achieve high customer service standards

Ability to work weekends and holidays

Ability to communicate with a wide variety of people including employees, nursing staff, managers, and hospital staff 

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Constant standing/walking 

Occasional stooping, kneeling or crawling 

Occasional pushing, pulling, lifting or carrying up to 40 lbs. 

Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs, ramps 

Constant computer/POS Register and bar equipment usage 

Constant receiving detailed information through oral communication 

Constant talking, expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word 

Occasional distinguishing, with a degree of accuracy, differences or similarities in intensity or quality of flavors and/or odors 

Constant clarity of vision at near and/or far distances
