Overview

Job Summary:

Prepares and delivers food trays to patients, processes meal requests, and handles diet orders using a computer system. Provides fast and accurate service to customers, both in person and over the phone. Prepares nourishment orders and delivers them to the appropriate hospital units.

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED Preferred.

Experience:

  • 2+ years in food service preferred.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to follow instructions and perform physical tasks.
  • Knowledge of food preparation, cleaning methods, and equipment.
  • Customer service and communication skills.
  • Basic math and computer skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and solve problems.

Job-Specific Duties:

  • Assists with food preparation, including cold foods, baking, and grilling.
  • Transports food and supplies between kitchen and service areas.
  • Prepares patient trays and customer meals.
  • Cleans kitchen equipment and work areas.
  • Delivers and returns trays to patient rooms.
  • Enters diet orders into the system and assists patients with menu choices.
  • Organizes and delivers nourishment supplies to units.
  • Operates cash register and balances receipts.
  • Resolves customer concerns or escalates to supervisor.
  • Upholds professionalism and teamwork standards.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting (up to 50 lbs).
  • Requires speaking, hearing, and visual acuity.
