Overview

JOB SUMMARY: 

Under general supervision, facilitates the development of behavior modification and therapeutic activities in a mental health day treatment program. 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: 

Bachelor's degree preferably in Psychology, Child Development, or Special Education with one-year experience working with children in a mental health setting. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

1. Under the supervision of the program director and advisement of the program psychologist, develops and arranges the active implementation of the clients individualized behavior plans. 

2. Plans and leads therapeutic group and individual sessions. 

3. Documents client progress in relation to goals on a daily basis. 

4. Conducts necessary assessments to support admission and note treatment progress. 

5. Participates in community observations to assessment placement criteria. 

6. Assists in the transition to a school setting. 

7. Participates in performance/quality assurance monitoring activities. 

8. Participates in weekly multidisciplinary staff meetings to review client progress. 

9. Participates in community integration outings. 

10. Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
