Overview

Job Summary

Build and maintain positive, productive relationships with members of the national, local and trade media, including day-to-day interaction with reporters and others regarding news stories about Atrium Health with a sense of urgency and adherence to deadline needs. Use outstanding judgement to determine levels of participation in media stories. Manage and shape media coverage to best represent Atrium Health in a manner that enhances or protects its reputation, patients and workforce, including during crises. Actively seek out appropriate media coverage opportunities that fulfill the objectives of the Enterprise Communications team, leveraging your experience and creativity.   

Preferred Functions

  • Understands enterprise strategic plan and aligns projects/programs/campaigns/activities; accordingly, manages multiple projects independently, drafts recommendations, customizes processes/outputs to audience.  
  • Organizes and writes major project deliverables with accuracy and clarity; presents complex concepts and analytical results in layperson’s language. Strong writing skills and application of AP style writing are essential to the role. 
  • Exhibits timely decision-making skills and effective priority setting.  
  • Manages the day-to-day workloads, priorities, time management and projects of team members, and assists with troubleshooting, crises and conflicts in their areas. Begins to direct, motivate and evaluate associates.  



Essential Functions

  • Draft and manage strategic plan for site, product, or service promotion.
  • Manages or operationalize product, service or program campaign.
  • Conduct and evaluate insight research to ensure effectiveness of campaign and end-to-end consumer experience.
  • Support a governance model for creation, distribution, management, and approval of content in printed or electronic formats and/or mediums.

 

Physical Requirements
Requires walking, standing, bending or moving around campus and/or other facilities. Requires the ability to drive and operate a personal vehicle. Requires reading, comprehending, editing or designing materials. Requires clear and effective communication. Requires the experience and ability to operate audiovisual equipment. Requires the occasional lifting of documents or supplies.



Education, Experience and Certifications

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Promotion, Communication, or Computer Science. Master's preferred. 3 to 5 years of experience in implementing and supporting enterprise marketing or sales campaigns preferably in a large integrated multi-site/state organization. Technical experience may include: use of Sitecore, structured data elements, knowledge of HTML 4/5 & CSS 3 (able to write/edit/troubleshoot code using a text editor), basic knowledge of responsive/mobile layout techniques (able to use Bootstrap to create a page layout), or basic knowledge of web page performance testing and optimization. Generally, requires the ability to work with tight deadlines and manage multiple projects at once.
