JOB SUMMARY: Works in conjunction with physicians, hospital staff, and departments to prioritize admissions to the most appropriate bed available, based upon medical necessity and admission criteria. Communicates with all departments, as appropriate, to maximize efficiency and expedite the admission, transfer and discharge processes. Acts independently to provide crisis management, interpret policy, and make timely decisions that directly affect patient care. Serves as the administrative liaison to patients, families, WFUBMC employees, and external customers.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing, BSN, BS or MSN required. Masters degree in a related field preferred. Three years acute care (Emergency, Medical-Surgical, or Critical Care) nursing experience and three years supervisory or leadership experience required.
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, and/or REGISTRATION: Current license as a Registered Nurse in the State of North Carolina. Certification within one year of hire required. BCLS required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) may be required within one year.
