Overview

Job Summary
Supervises various food service areas (sandwich stand, salad bar, grill, etc.) to ensure customer satisfaction and smooth operations. Implements business practices that align with Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center's mission and values. Oversees services and looks for opportunities to grow.

Education/Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED required, with 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • Associate's degree preferred.

Certification

  • ServSafe certification required.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Manage daily food service operations, ensuring staff has the resources they need.
  2. Assist with payroll and cash control functions.
  3. Identify and address operational issues, informing leadership as needed.
  4. Supervise staff by delegating tasks, prioritizing activities, and maintaining standards.
  5. Provide feedback to employees to motivate, coach, and correct.
  6. Ensure compliance with all regulations and hospital policies.
  7. Maintain a safe working environment by offering safety training and equipment maintenance.
  8. Set operational standards and implement quality improvements.
  9. Ensure employee satisfaction and compliance with regulations for food service areas.
  10. Ensure high-quality service delivery.
  11. Promote diversity in the workplace.

Skills/Qualifications

  • Strong communication skills (oral and written).
  • Analytical skills and ability to handle stress.
  • Excellent customer service and ability to foster professional relationships.
  • Ethical conduct and compliance with laws and policies.

Work Environment

  • May work in various food service areas, including kitchen and retail.
  • Exposure to wet floors and sharp equipment.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
  • May need to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.
