Overview

JOB SUMMARY:

Develops, implements, and administers one or more major programs within the School of Medicine.  Provides benchmarking data, industry insight, and analysis to ensure education programs meet the compliance with national boards, accrediting bodies, and student success metrics.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree with equivalent experience to substitute for education.
  • Master’s degree in Health Administration, Business Administration or related field preferred.
  • Three years' experience in program management, program development, project management in education setting preferred.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Manages and oversees the planning, implementation, coordination and evaluation of new education programs in support of the Department of Academic Nursing.  Assumes major responsibility for coordinating the successful and timely completion of the tasks within projects.
  2. Manages and/or implements all operational policies and procedures related to the functioning of the education program.
  3. Prepares periodic analyses and reports reflecting progress and trends of on-going programs within School of Medicine, referencing trends and calls to action from the American Commission of Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Council on Accreditation (COA) and other accrediting bodies.  Identifies and anticipates potential issues and risks, and make suggestions for improvement and implement as appropriate.
  4. Tracks, evaluates, and interprets collected metrics data. Manages the preparation of compliance and progress report monitoring. Participates in the analysis of study data and the writing of accreditation progress and reports. Drafts metrics, statistical, narrative, and/or other reports as requested. Makes recommendations based on these findings.
  5. Represents the program(s) to all related development, serves as the department liaison, spokesperson and representative.
  6. Arranges, implements, and facilitates team meetings to achieve results. Attends meetings with appropriate staff and faculty as necessary to provide and gather information. Promotes a cooperative work environment by utilizing communication skills, interpersonal relationships and team building.
  7. Ensures that all aspects of the new academic programs are conducted in accordance to the national and accreditation standards and timelines.
  8. Assists Department Chair with the collection, analysis and preparation of faculty evaluation reports.
  9. Tracks and assesses the educational needs of the enterprise with a focus on nursing.
  10.  Supports the Department Chair and Director of Operations with ongoing financial tasks, the annual budget process and financial forecasting.

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong PC background in computer spreadsheets systems and presentation packages.
  • Skilled problem solver who can work independently.
  • Ability to manage special projects, work under pressure, meet deadlines.
  • Customer service orientation, specifically oriented towards students.
  • Strong presentation skills to effectively persuade and influence in order to achieve desired outcomes with diverse clientele.
