Overview

Job Summary
The Cook II prepares and cooks food based on recipes and prep lists, cleans kitchen equipment, and maintains quality standards.

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

Experience

  • At least 2 years of cooking experience required.

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to follow instructions and maintain cleanliness.
  • Knowledge of food preparation, equipment, and sanitation.
  • Basic math skills for adjusting recipes.
  • Proficiency in cooking techniques like grilling, frying, baking, etc.
  • Ability to make the five mother sauces.

Job Duties

  • Prepares food using recipes and adjusts portions as needed.
  • Cleans and sanitizes kitchen equipment and areas.
  • Ensures food quality and safety standards are met.
  • Transports food between kitchen and service areas.
  • Tests and develops new recipes, ensuring proper food rotation and labeling.

Professionalism

  • Maintains a professional working relationship, follows department rules, and supports teamwork.

Physical Requirements

  • Regular standing, walking, bending, lifting (up to 50 lbs), and repetitive motion.
  • Requires good vision and communication skills.
