Overview

We are seeking a skilled and empathetic Pediatric Pre-Op Registered Nurse to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have experience in pediatric nursing and a passion for preparing young patients and their families for surgical procedures. As a Pediatric Pre-Op RN, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, and delivering preoperative care, ensuring a smooth and stress-free experience for both children and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough preoperative assessments of pediatric patients, including medical history, vital signs, and physical examinations.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding surgical procedures, anesthesia, and postoperative care.
  • Coordinate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care planning.
  • Administer preoperative medications and perform necessary preoperative procedures in accordance with hospital protocols.
  • Monitor patients for any adverse reactions or complications and take appropriate action.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of patient care plans and discharge instructions.
  • Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients and families, addressing any concerns or questions.
  • Ensure a safe and clean environment, adhering to infection control and safety protocols.

 

Qualifications:

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Georgia.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children and families.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team environment.
