Overview
Open Rank Faculty Position in the Department of Implementation Science
The new strategic partnership between Wake Forest School of Medicine and Atrium Health creates an unparalleled opportunity for implementation scientists who are interested in research-to-practice translation in partnership with a complex, multi-state health system. The health system’s commitment to implementation science is evidenced through the founding of the nation’s first dedicated department in 2018. We are currently growing our faculty with the recruitment of creative scholars who make meaningful contributions to implementation research and practice. The department currently has strengths in pragmatic trials, cluster randomized trials, qualitative methodology, stakeholder engagement, digital health, organizational theory and behavior, and learning health systems. We seek to build depth in these areas, as well as expand expertise in human factors engineering, economics and other areas. We are especially interested in individuals with strong health systems knowledge. As such, this opportunity may be uniquely appealing to clinical scientists who apply their specialty expertise to implementing patient and population health interventions. Secondary appointments with clinical responsibilities are available and flexible. We anticipate faculty will affiliate with one or more of our nationally-recognized centers, such as the Center for Healthcare Innovation, Center for Biomedical Informatics and Systems Biology, The Maya Angelou Center for Health Equity, Wake Forest Baptist Comprehensive Cancer Center, Center for Substance Abuse and Addiction, and the Sticht Center for Healthy Aging and Alzheimer’s Prevention. We are deeply committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of our work and share a commitment to making an impact on patients, communities, and policies through our research.
