Overview
JOB SUMMARY:
Performs a variety of duties involved in clinical patient interviewing and history gathering including the administration and scoring of standardized psychological and neuropsychological tests, under the direct supervision of a doctoral level licensed psychologist. Also incorporates behavioral observations and provides this feedback to the supervising psychologist.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in Psychology or related field with 12 hours in Psychology and one year of experience in psychological or educational testing in a psychological practice or academic setting.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Administers and scores various neuropsychological and psychological tests, congruent with Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) codes allowing involvement of a psychological technician. Assists the supervising neuropsychologist/psychologist by administering test and other measures to patients to assess factors such as intellectual functioning, presence and extent of organic involvement, general cognition, personality assessment and psychopathy.
2. Schedules time and place for test administrations; keeps neuropsychologist/psychologist/psychologist informed of situations that might delay and/or interfere with testing procedures; scores tests using appropriate reference tables and draft score profiles. Schedules additional appointments as required.
3. Observes patients before, during and after testing, records behavioral observations. Reports to neuropsychologist/psychologist/psychologist any information that may affect the validity and significance of test results. Works collaboratively with other staff and reports any patient testing issues to supervising psychologist.
4. Documents and records behavioral observations and patient performance during testing.
5. Maintains interface with neuropsychologist/psychologist physicians and related medical personnel; meets regularly with clinic staff to maintain smooth and efficient clinic functioning.
6. Assists neuropsychologist/psychologist in collecting accurate data for various research projects by administering test batteries to selected subjects at designated intervals.
7. Ensures all paperwork is prepared prior to patient visit, compliance with all state and federal laws governing patient medical records and health information privacy.
8. Maintains and organizes testing materials and equipment to include ordering testing materials to ensure adequate inventory at all times.
9. Other administrative and patient care duties as assigned.

Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with patients Experience and comfort working with individuals of diverse backgrounds and ages, including older adults Detail oriented and provides accurate and error-free scoring and data entry Proficient with administrative and computer skills primarily Microsoft Office software: Word, Access, Excel and Outlook Strong customer service skills General knowledge of psychological principles applying to intelligence, aptitude and personality assessment
