Position Highlights

 

  • Sign-on Bonus: $1,500 eligible position for qualified candidates!
  • Shift Schedule: Full-Time 3 (12hr shifts) weekly, Night Shift, (7p-7a)
  • Department: Pediatric Intermediate Care Unit (PIMC)
  • Location: Brenner Children's Hospital, AHWFB

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Completion of a North Carolina State Approved Nurse Aide I course.
  • BLS certification required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Care: Provide direct patient care, maintain a safe environment, and assist with activities of daily living.
  • Communication: Relay messages, answer phones, and maintain records.
  • Patient Information & Documentation: Record vital signs, fluid intake/output, and patient data. Collect specimens.
  • Patient Dietary Assistance: Prepare, assist, and document patient meals.
  • Patient Transfer/Discharge: Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges. Provide patient mobility support.
  • Patient Environment: Maintain unit cleanliness, manage supplies and equipment, and inspect patient charts.
  • Patient Records: Update, assemble, and maintain patient charts. Assist with record requests.
  • Call Lights: Respond to call lights promptly.
  • Phone Etiquette: Answer phones professionally and direct physician calls to nurses.
  • Customer Focus: Provide excellent customer service, greet visitors, and assist with patient needs.
  • Supplies & Equipment: Assess unit supply needs, maintain inventory, and deliver requisitions and specimens.
  • Teamwork & Support: Assist with patient care procedures, orientation, and unit coordination.
  • Meetings & Updates: Attend unit meetings and continuing education programs.
  • Professionalism: Maintain a professional demeanor and adhere to department rules and standards.
  • Other Duties: Perform assigned tasks as directed by management.
     

Physical and Behavioral Requirements:

  • Perform various physical tasks, including lifting and bending.
  • Maintain visual acuity, sense of smell, and sense of touch.
  • Effectively communicate with patients, family, and staff.
  • Manage high-stress situations due to patient volume.
