CREATE Team Data Collector:

  • Work under the direction of study investigators and research staff.
  • Conduct patient/participant recruitment for research studies, aligning with our mission of inclusivity and community engagement.
  • Administer surveys and collect data in adherence to research protocols developed to address health disparities.
  • Efficiently track and manage research data to contribute to evidence-based solutions.
  • Actively engage in community outreach events, sharing our commitment to promoting health and social equity.
  • Utilize social media platforms to amplify community awareness and participation in our research initiatives.
  • Ensure strict compliance with research protocols and ethical standards.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, contributing to the collective goal of advancing health equity.
  • Maintain confidentiality, demonstrating sensitivity to intercultural relations and diverse community contexts.
  • Foster a positive image and uphold a professional appearance, reflecting our commitment to community respect.
  • -Assist with manuscript development, and scientific and community presentations.
  • -Travel between Winston-Salem and Charlotte, and occasionally to rural eastern NC.
  • -Other duties as assigned dependent upon interests and skills.

 

General responsibilities of Data Collectors:

  • Performs duties involved in the collection and documentation of data in support of research and information gathering activities.
  • Participates in all aspects of research and evaluation activities. Edits collected data and performs follow-up activities.
  • Assists in the design and testing of questionnaires, data input sheets, and other data collection mechanisms.
  • Supervises and participates in the coding of data in preparation for computer operations.
  • Coordinates the collection and organization of materials and data used in research reports, publications, and program descriptions.
  • Assists in data analyses and preparation of charts, graphs, and reports obtained from research data.
  • Performs fieldwork on assigned research project.
  • Establishes and coordinates interview schedules and conducts interviews with patients, family members, and the public.
  • Assists individuals in filling out preliminary forms and questionnaires and answers questions as required.
  • Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

 

 

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Social Science, Education, or Public Health; or, an equivalent combination of

  experience and education including training in research methodology, computerized data processing, 

  and/or interviewing techniques.

- Good interpersonal and communication skills (verbal, non-verbal, and listening skills).

- Basic computer skills required.

- Excellent oral/written communication and organizational skills.

- Excellent reading comprehension.

- Sensitivity to intercultural relations and the maintenance of confidentiality.

-Bilingual English/Spanish (preferred)

- US citizen or permanent resident.
