Overview

Summary:
The Application Analyst I plays a vital role in delivering exceptional patient experiences at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center (WFBMC). This role ensures compliance with WFBMC's values and code of conduct and addresses any compliance issues promptly. Under the guidance of the Manager or Technical Lead, the analyst configures and maintains software applications that support clinical workflows and business operations. The analyst collaborates with the application team and customers to implement technology solutions and ensures customer satisfaction. This role also involves troubleshooting, testing, and documenting changes to software systems.

Education/Experience:

  • Required: Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education, certification, and experience

Reports to:

  • Department Manager

Licensure/Certification:

  • Required: Epic certification or applicable system training/proficiency within 6 months

Essential Functions:

  1. Researches and resolves application issues reported by users, finding root causes and implementing solutions.
  2. Analyzes workflow and business operations in collaboration with the team and end-users.
  3. Maintains system configurations under the direction of the Technical Lead.
  4. Tests and implements fixes in test environments, ensuring configurations work as intended.
  5. Gathers and documents specifications for new or revised system functionalities.
  6. Serves as a liaison between end users and vendors to support system implementation.
  7. Troubleshoots user problems and questions.
  8. Communicates with vendor implementation teams as needed for projects.
  9. Documents changes and follows change management processes for implementing fixes.
  10. Applies project management principles to execute project plans.
  11. Logs time spent on projects to meet documentation requirements.
  12. Assists trainers as needed.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of IT or healthcare settings

  • Fast-paced, with long hours as needed based on business requirements
