Overview

Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Hospital is offering a one-year postgraduate fellowship designed specifically for Physician Assistants or Acute Care Nurse Practitioners with first assist certification who are seeking advanced education in Orthopedics. This comprehensive program provides a unique opportunity to engage in patient care across both outpatient and inpatient settings within a Level One trauma center.

Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) in this fellowship will gain hands-on experience and educational insights into all orthopedic subspecialties. The program emphasizes the application of best clinical practices for both adult and pediatric patient populations. Additionally, the fellowship includes structured classroom learning through our collaboration with the Center for Advanced Practice in Charlotte, ensuring a well-rounded educational experience.

This fellowship is ideal for APPs committed to deepening their expertise and advancing their skills in Orthopedic care.

 

Education/Experience:

Completion of accredited Physical Assistant program or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program and possess nurse first assist certification

Eileen Ronsheim

 

Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration:

Physician Assistant Certification or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner with RN first assist certification

 

Essential Functions:

  1. Provide patient care in ambulatory orthopedic setting.
  2. Provide patient care within inpatient orthopedic setting.
  3. Provide patient care within the operating room suite.
  4. Participate in educational responsibilities within the APP Fellowship program.
  5. Formulate a scholarly presentation based on clinical experiences.
