Overview
JOB SUMMARY:
Develops a psychological assessment program focusing on adults. Performs psychological assessment and psychotherapy, as well as provides consultation to referring physician providers.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Doctoral degree (PhD/PsyD) in clinical psychology. Successful record of training and experience conducting psychological assessments with adults.
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, and/or REGISTRATION:
Licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Licensed Psychologist In North Carolina.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Develops referral and scheduling mechanism for patients referred for psychological assessment.
2. Manages psychological testing equipment and resources, such as testing materials, rating scales, and computerized methods of assessment.
3. Administers psychological assessments for patients, including initial interview, test administration, test scoring and interpretation, report writing, and test feedback for patients and families.
4. Discusses and interprets findings with internal and external referral sources.
5. As the schedule allows, provides individual, family, and/or group psychotherapy.
6. Provides supervision for psychological assessment conducted by a licensed psychological associate as needed.
7. Participates in educational activities (e.g. psychotherapy supervision, didactics, clinical coaching) for psychiatry fellows, general psychiatry residents, medical students, and PA students.
