Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist is seeking full-time New Grad RNs for our Adult Acute Care Residency at High Point Medical Center, located in High Point, North Carolina. A New Graduate Nurse is either a current nursing student nearing graduation from an RN program or a recent graduate with less than six months of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse.

The High Point Medical Center Adult Acute Care units include:
- 6 South: 6 South is a 36 bed Intermediate Care unit that specializes primarily in Neuro and Telemetry patients. This is a designated Stroke unit, so you will receive specialized training to care for these patients. You will also receive training in Cardiac Nursing, including reading Telemetry strips and managing cardiac drips. 6 South is a great place to develop a lot of valuable Nursing Skills that you will utilize for the rest of your career!
- 6 North: We are a 36-bed medical-surgical unit. We care for adult patients from 18 to 100+ years old with a variety of diagnoses. Some of our patient population includes general surgery, urology surgery, GI surgery, wound care and management, traumatic injuries post fall or car accidents, and traditional inpatient medicine patients. Our team is consists of RNs, LPNs, and NAs. This is a great unit to see a variety of diagnoses and solidify a foundation of skills that will serve you well in all aspects of your nursing career.
- 7 North/7 South: 7 North is a 30-bed Medical-Surgical Unit and 7 South is a 36-bed Medical-Surgical Unit, where we are dedicated to delivering exceptional care to adult patients with a variety of medical conditions. From general medicine, respiratory, renal, cardiac, oncology and beyond, our unit focuses on providing compassionate, patient-centered care tailored to each individual's needs, ensuring the highest quality outcomes for our diverse patient population. - Observation/Clinical Decision Unit: A 12-bed general medical-surgical unit that handles acute patients with expected stays less than 36 hours. Upon completion of 6 months in the observation unit, you will be crossed-trained for the Clinical Decision Unit, which is a 12-bed extension of the emergency department. The Clinical Decision Unit handles patients that are requiring extended emergency department stays, however are expected to be discharged within 24 hours. The clinical decision unit is a protocol driven unit.

The New Graduate Nurse provides nursing care to patients using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation). They lead and direct other assigned team members and collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to provide age/developmentally appropriate care in accordance with nursing standards of care and practice.
- Less than 6 months of RN experience
- Graduation from accredited School of Nursing; BSN preferred.
- Registered Nurse licensure from the State of North Carolina Board of Nursing
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within 1 year of hire, per unit guidelines
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within 1 year of hire, per unit guidelines
