Overview

Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist is seeking full-time New Grad RNs for our Women's Services Residency at High Point Medical Center, located in High Point, North Carolina. A New Graduate Nurse is either a current nursing student nearing graduation from an RN program or a recent graduate with less than six months of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse. 

 

Position Highlights 

  • Facility: Our Women’s and Children’s Services at  High Point Medical Center provides the following opportunities for nurses to learn and grow in the following specialties: Labor and Delivery, Level 2 Nursery, Mother/Baby, Pediatrics, Antepartum, and GYN Surgical. Our units work closely together so nurses are encouraged to learn more than one specialty to be able to promote and provide Family Centered Care.   
  • Residency Program: New Graduate RNs at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist receive supportive training led by dedicated nurse educators, including clinical orientation, specialty-specific learning, and skill-building in clinical decision-making, teamwork, communication, and career development. 

High Point Medical Center's Women's Services units include:

  • 5 North OBGYN: is a 30- bed unit that provides care for postpartum mothers and their babies, GYN Surgical, Pediatrics, and Antepartum patients that do not need to be monitored for labor. Nurses from this area also learn how to care for newborns that may need a higher level of care in the Level II Nursery. 
  • Labor & Delivery: The Labor & Delivery Unit has 6 dedicated labor beds and 3 triage rooms. Nurses learn to monitor fetal heart rates, identifying potential risks, assess labor progression and assist with delivery. They also learn to assess the newborn and provide care when needed.

Job Summary

The New Graduate Nurse provides nursing care to patients using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation). They lead and direct other assigned team members and collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to provide age/developmentally appropriate care in accordance with nursing standards of care and practice.   

 

What You’ll Need 

  • Less than 6 months of RN experience  
  • Graduation from accredited School of Nursing; BSN preferred. 
  • Registered Nurse licensure from the State of North Carolina Board of Nursing 
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required  
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within 1 year of hire, per unit guidelines  
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within 1 year of hire, per unit guidelines
