Overview

Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist is seeking full-time New Grad RNs for our Critical Care Residency at Lexington Medical Center, located in Lexington, North Carolina. A New Graduate Nurse is either a current nursing student nearing graduation from an RN program or a recent graduate with less than six months of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse. 

Position Highlights 

  • Sign-on Bonus: Up to $10,000 for qualified candidates!  
  • Unit: The 16-bed Critical Care Unit at Lexington Medical Center provides both Intensive and Intermediate Care. We maintain a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio for ICU patients and 1:2 to 1:3 for intermediate care patients. A dedicated charge nurse supports the unit without a patient assignment.
  • Facility: Lexington Medical Center, a community hospital in Lexington, NC, leverages the expertise of a top-tier academic medical center to deliver world-class care through 94 acute-care beds and a network of specialty services and physician practices, all while maintaining a legacy of exceptional service since the 1920s.
  • Shift: Full-time, night shift
  • Residency Program: New Graduate RNs at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist receive supportive training led by dedicated nurse educators, including clinical orientation, specialty-specific learning, and skill-building in clinical decision-making, teamwork, communication, and career development.

Job Summary

The New Graduate Nurse provides nursing care to patients using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation). They lead and direct other assigned team members and collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to provide age/developmentally appropriate care in accordance with nursing standards of care and practice.   

What You’ll Need 

  • Less than 6 months of RN experience  
  • Graduation from accredited School of Nursing; BSN preferred. 
  • Registered Nurse licensure from the State of North Carolina Board of Nursing 
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required  
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within 1 year of hire, per unit guidelines  
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within 1 year of hire, per unit guidelines
