Maintenance Mechanic - Full time - Days

Overview

Job Summary

Responsible for ensuring buildings and equipment are maintained in proper and safe working conditions in accordance with federal, state and local guidelines.  Also responsible for maintenance and repair of HVAC and cooling systems.

Essential Functions

• Performs maintenance and repairs on designated HVAC equipment, also to include boilers, exercise equipment, Environmental Services equipment, and Dining Services equipment. Maintains repair and inspection logs on equipment within established and recommended guidelines. 
• Reads plans, blueprints, and sketches of renovation or demolition as needed.  Completes work independently or as a part of a team based upon direction and/or by reading plans. 
• Communicates status of work request to affected Facility staff and complies with Facility Services policies regarding completion of work orders. 
• Complies with Facility Services policies regarding completion of work orders and assignments in timely manner. 
• Performs inspections of buildings, grounds and equipment, report condition and repair as necessary.
• Assist in testing fire alarm systems, emergency generator, HVAC and other systems and participate in fire alarm, personal call, and other responses.
• Records time and parts necessary to perform maintenance activities on work orders. 
• Maintains knowledge of systems within departments assigned, including HVAC and electrical and provides technical assistance to these departments. 
• Work with subcontractors, such as, HVAC, Plumbing, painting, dry wall, carpet, etc. on projects.
• Maintains the necessary tools to perform any routine maintenance task with tools kept clean and in good working order.

Job Requirements:

Minimum education of a High School Diploma or GED required.

A minimum of 4 years facility maintenance or related experience.

Valid Georgia Driver’s License and eligible for and must remain eligible for insurance coverage.
