Overview

Job Summary:

  • Assist patients with scheduling appointments in a clinical setting
  • Answer phone calls courteously and process requests promptly
  • Ensure accurate messaging for appointments and information
  • Provide excellent customer service and telephone etiquette
  • Supervisor available for escalated issues

Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • One year of office or clerical work in customer service required
  • Experience in high-volume, fast-paced environments with phone and electronic messaging
  • Medical terminology and bilingual in Spanish preferred

Licensure/Certification:

  • Pass a departmental data entry test

Essential Functions:

  1. Use computer programs to schedule, update, and cancel appointments
  2. Follow policies for accurate registration data, billing, and authorization records
  3. Work with co-workers to meet department goals
  4. Screen calls, document scheduling information, and communicate with clinical departments
  5. Assist with forms, insurance documentation, and obtaining clinic documentation
  6. Improve customer service and solve problems
  7. Act as a liaison between patients, medical staff, and agencies
  8. Perform other duties as assigned
