Overview

Job Summary:

Handles requests from patients, visitors, and staff related to meal orders, transport, linen services, housekeeping, engineering, clinical equipment, and switchboard calls. This position is essential during severe weather and requires a flexible schedule.

Education/Experience:
  • Required: High school diploma or GED and two years of customer service experience.
  • Preferred: Experience in a medical environment and handling multiple calls in a call center.
Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration:
  • Valid North Carolina driver's license
Essential Functions:
  1. Meal Orders: Guides inpatients through meal ordering, ensuring options meet dietary requirements.
  2. Safety Checks: Reviews medication and allergy reports to ensure meal safety and updates documentation.
  3. Missed Meals: Identifies and follows up with patients who missed meals, coordinating with nursing staff.
  4. Service Requests: Manages requests for transport, linen, housekeeping, engineering, and clinical equipment, ensuring accurate documentation.
  5. Escalations: Escalates unanswered requests and follows up on service satisfaction.
  6. Additional Duties: Performs other duties as assigned.
Skills/Qualifications:
  • Clear and calm phone voice
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to use multiple software systems simultaneously
  • Typing speed of 45 words per minute
  • Self-motivated and able to work without supervision
  • Positive attitude essential
