Food Services Assistant II-High Point

Overview

Builds and delivers food trays to patients, processes meal requests and diet orders through computer system, and provides prompt and accurate service to customers. Interacts with patients, employees, medical staff, and customers both over the phone and in person.

• Required: High School Diploma or GED

• Preferred: 2+ years in Food Service

• Ability to read and follow instructions.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods, food service equipment, and food preparation.
• Capable of moderately heavy physical labor.
• Adherence to safety and sanitation standards.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Basic math and cash handling skills.
• Basic computer skills.

1. Food Preparation: Assists with cold food production, baking, and grill relief.
2. Transportation: Moves items between storeroom, kitchen, and retail areas.
3. Tray Preparation: Prepares trays based on meal tickets and customer requests.
4. Sanitation & Cleaning: Cleans kitchen equipment and utensils, washes dishes.
5. Tray Delivery/Return: Delivers and returns trays to patient rooms or nursing units.
6. Order Entry: Enters patient diet and meal orders into computer system.
7. Nourishment Delivery: Organizes and delivers nourishment supplies.
8. Cash Register: Handles customer payments and balances receipts.
9. Conflict Resolution: Addresses customer concerns or refers them to a supervisor.
10. Professionalism: Maintains professional relationships and adheres to department rules.

• Frequent stooping, hearing, walking, kneeling, talking, pushing, pulling, lifting, standing, grasping, feeling, repetitive motion, and reaching.
• Medium physical force required (20-50 lbs occasionally, 10-25 lbs frequently, up to 10 lbs constantly).
• Visual acuity and effective communication abilities needed.
• Completion of a pre-employment physical demands test.
