Overview

Be a part of our dynamic healthcare family and join our PRN team as an MRI Technologist.  MRI is a 24/7 department that serves inpatient, outpatient and ED patients.  The PRN team covers shift vacancies in an effort to maintain excellence in patient care.  

Position Highlights:

  • Shift Schedule: PRN, various shifts as needed
  • Location: Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, Winston-Salem Campus 

What You’ll Need:

  • Graduate of an approved AMA Radiology Program or Associate’s Degree Required
  • Registered & Certified by ARRT in MRI / other specialty or Deemed MRI Registry Eligible
  • Valid BLS Certification Required
  • Able to communicate professionally, both written and orally, with physicians, nurses, and other professionals
  • Effective time management & clinical skills to successfully prioritize patient needs and clinical responsibilities in a fast-paced and potentially stressful work environment with high patient volume.

Preferred:

  • Preferred – Bachelor’s Degree
  • Preferred – 2 years of experience in MRI

Job Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

  1. Conducts or assists in MRI procedures and diagnostic tests / scans. 
  2. Maintains knowledge of current protocols and imaging techniques, while ensuring MRI Scanners are well-equipped for patient use.
  3. Ensures readiness of emergency equipment and supplies, recognizes and reacts appropriately to potential crises.
  4. Provides guidance, education, and consultation to healthcare personnel, students, and patients to enhance quality of care; stays current with necessary competencies, training, and education needed to work in this capacity.
  5. Maintains patient files and records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with departmental procedures.
  6. Collaborates with colleagues to achieve objectives; Sets personal and professional goals to support quality improvement efforts and departmental objectives.
  7. Ensures age and developmentally appropriate care meets guidelines for specific age groups served.
  8. Adheres to general hospital procedures and policies, fostering cooperation through effective communication, interpersonal relationships, and team building.

This role involves maintaining a clean work area but carries inherent risks, including exposure to infections, bloodborne diseases, hazardous substances, and radiation. It also entails handling emergency situations, working irregular hours, and being available for short-notice absentee replacement.
