Requirements:
- Associate's degree in a health related field with two years of related experience
- Or, an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Simulator, paramedic or EMT experience with interest in education preferred
- Medical terminology required and clinical procedures knowledge preferred
The Successful Candidate will assume responsibility for a variety of functions, which include, but are not limited to:
- Serves as simulator operator by programming, testing and running scenarios with faculty instructors.
- Sets up equipment for teaching sessions. Maintains and disassembles skills stations and trainers.
- Organizes lab resources including on-line, media, and text items to ensure efficiency of lab. Maintains the lab in a clean, safe, and operational status. Updates policies, procedures, and safety manuals.
- Operates and uses a variety of simulator technologies ranging from anatomic models and task trainers to full body patient simulators and virtual reality surgical simulators. Stays abreast of new technologies and procedures.
- Provides technical support for computer based multimedia systems and their components, including anesthesia machines.
- Assists in training faculty and laboratory visitors in the operational aspects of simulation. Demonstrates simulator functions.
- Develops and maintains appropriate spreadsheets and databases to track laboratory usage.
- Maintains inventory of necessary equipment, parts and general supplies of work area.
- Supervises the calibration and maintenance of equipment. Confirms equipment failures and arranges to have equipment restored to proper service. Installs software and hardware upgrades and repairs the equipment as required and or directed by the manufacturer. Maintains record of repairs.
- Prepares for and transports devices across campuses as necessary.
- Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
