Overview
Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist is currently hiring for RN positions within the Emergency Department Float Pool/Resource Team - NIGHTS. This service line includes the Emergency Departments at three locations- Baptist Medical Center, Wilkes Medical Center, Davie Medical Center, High Point Medical Center and Lexington Medical Center. All nurses hired into these services are required to float to various facilities within the Wake region, depending on the role and service line.

Position Highlights:
- Sign-On Bonus: $15,000 for eligible and qualified candidates

- Shift Schedule: Full Time (36 hours), Nights 7p-7a
Job Summary:
The Staff Nurse, Float Pool provides comprehensive nursing care through skillful assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation in accordance with facility or department policies procedures, and/or protocols under the supervision of the nursing leader. Assists in maintaining a safe work environment and performs all related job responsibilities in a safe manner. Maintains clinical and professional competency as appropriate to the population of patients served. Must be available to provide nursing services in all patient care areas of expertise and knowledge, at all elected facilities.
Position will require floating within the Wake region:
- Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center (Winston-Salem, NC),
- Davie Medical Center (Bermuda Run, NC),
- Wilkes Medical Center (North Wilkesboro, NC)
- High Point Medical Center (High Point, NC)
- Lexington Medical Center (Lexington, NC)
Education, Experience, and Certifications:
- Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing. BSN preferred.
- 2 Years of RN experience
- Registered Nurse licensure from the State of North Carolina
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within 1 year of hire for Adult ED
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within 1 year of hire for Network ED
Essential Functions:
- Provide patient/family centered care using the nursing process and focusing on the physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, religious, and environmental needs. This includes providing for the assessment, development of nursing diagnoses, outcome identification, planning, implementation of interventions, coordination of care, health teaching and promotion and evaluation of goals and interventions consistent with the policies of Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist.
- Maintains a safe, therapeutic, and healing environment through ensuring patient privacy and responsive, respectful, accepting, and professional behavior.
- Utilizes and promotes the use of technology and equipment to enhance the safety of patients and staff.
- Communicates effectively to promote sharing of information throughout the continuum of care and as an effective member of the healthcare team.
- Demonstrates the ability to function in a professional setting through active participation in a professional practice model. This includes participating in shared governance, adherence to standards of care, participation in peer review and professional development promoting leadership and clinical excellence, effective team skills, autonomous practice and acknowledgment of accountability for actions and critical thinking.
- Performs and maintains competency for point-of-care testing as assigned, waived and or non-waived, ensuring compliance with WFBH policies and with applicable state and federal regulations.
- Acts as a patient advocate throughout the continuum of care including all patient settings and in the community.
- Coordinates the effective and efficient delivery of patient care services through the application of care management principles. Identifies clinical priorities and initiates action to improve patient outcomes.
- Demonstrates ability to function in a professional practice model through active participation in shared governance, promotion of a healthy work environment and acceptance of personal responsibility for professional growth.
