Overview

Job Summary:

Located within the Division of Public Health Sciences in Wake Forest University School of Medicine, this role will assume responsibility for the project management (including project planning, tracking, implementation, and dissemination) of an NIH-funded research study that assesses the marketing of cannabidiol (CBD). 

This position requires a high level of initiative, attention to detail and independence as well as the use of judgment and discretion in performing the assigned duties and responsibilities. 

Essential Functions: 

  1. Work with the Project Director and other team members to coordinate the successful and timely completion of project tasks across the planning, implementation, data collection, and data analysis phases of the study. 
  2. Work with various teams to ensure project activities are planned, coordinated, and delivered on time. 
  3. Manage day-to-day project activities. 
  4. Oversee the study budget including forecasting and monitoring.
  5. Ensure the study teams are meeting deadlines and deliverables.
  6. Oversee the completion of project deliverables, such as NIH progress reports. 
  7. Write and submit IRB protocols. 
  8. Maintain certification in the ethical conduct of human subjects research (CITI and other IRB training).
  9. Assist with research efforts such as developing protocols for data collection, and developing, testing, and implementing online surveys.
  10. Maintain literature databases/reference managers and assist in conducting literature reviews.
  11. Participate in dissemination of research products, including assistance with the development of manuscripts and conference presentations.
  12. Perform other related duties incidental to work described herein. 

Education/Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferably in the social sciences) with at least 3 years of relevant project management experience. 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of scientific principles.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and handle multiple moving projects
  • Detail oriented.
  • Public speaking experience.
  • Self-starter.
  • Comfortable working with a team as well as independently.

Additional Desirable Qualifications: 

  • Project Management Certificate
  • Strong knowledge of online video platforms to include WebEx and Zoom
  • Previous experience in public health project or program management
  • Master’s degree in Public Health and/or experience in public health
