Education/Experience/Certifications to Qualify: 

  • Bachelor's degree and successful completion of a Medical Technologist program
    • Five years' clinical lab experience
    • Or two years' clinical lab experience with Medical Lab Tech (MLT) certification
  • Medical Technologist (MT) ASCP certification
  • Previous experience as Medical Technologist preferred

Essential Functions: 

  • Perform and provide accurate laboratory test results on human patients. 
  • Prepare and issue blood components for patient transfusions. 
  • Assist in the collection and transport of patient samples from the clinics to laboratory sections. 
  • Requisition and maintain inventory of supplies, materials, and equipment as needed for laboratory operations. 
  • Supervise, train, and review the work of students and lower level technicians.  Engage in clinical laboratory work. 
  • Operate complex specialized laboratory instruments; instruct other personnel in the use and operation of these instruments.
