Overview
Atrium Health Levine Cancer Outpatient Transplant and Cellular Therapy- is looking for a part-time Registered Nurse to support this new program. This is an ambulatory infusion style pod with 15 chairs that is open 7 days a week from 0700-1900 to support the needs of transplant and cellular therapy patients. This team will help prepare patients for transplant by administering chemotherapy, administer cellular therapy products, and support patients during the acute phase after receiving the cellular therapy with IV medications, electrolyte replacement, blood products and other supportive care measures. This program is an extension of our already existing Transplant and Cellular Therapy program that was established 10 years ago and has completed more than 1200 transplants.. This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of the original outpatient TCT team!
Job Summary
Assesses and diagnosis patients in a practice setting. Identifies outcomes, implements treatment and coordinates care. Performs and assists with oncology and infusion related treatments, therapies, and procedures.
Essential Functions
Physical Requirements
Work requires walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, bending, pushing and pulling. Work requires lifting 75 pounds. Must speak English fluently and in understandable terms. Must possess an intact sense of sight, hearing, smell, touch, and finger dexterity. Must have the ability to concentrate. Must be able to respond quickly to changes in patient and/or clinic conditions.
Education, Experience and Certifications
Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing required. BSN preferred. Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse or temporary license as a Registered Nurse Petitioner in the state of North Carolina required. Oncology experience preferred. Proficiency in IV therapy, bone marrow, spinals, thoracenteses, paracenteses and phlebotomy preferred. Oncology certification preferred. BLS required per policy guidelines.
