Overview
The Department of Pediatrics at Wake Forest University School of Medicine is seeking a full-time, Board Certified or Board eligible neonatologist at the Assistant, Associate, or Professor level to join fourteen neonatologists, a behavioral psychologist, seven neonatal-perinatal medicine fellows, and numerous advanced practitioners in the Section of Neonatology.
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications: MD or DO, strong clinical and educational skills, and dedication to, and/or funded, scholarly activity in clinical, basic, or translational research or quality improvement.
The Section is part of Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center Brenner Children’s Hospital that manages infants in the Sisel Newborn Intensive Care Unit, a 79-bed state-of-the-art center that opened in 2019.
The Section has active research focused on neonatal follow-up, ELGANS, clinical trials, and fetal programming amongst others. The Level IV NICU serves as the referral center for the more than 28,000 neonates born in Northwest North Carolina’s Perinatal Region II with admissions of approximately 900 annually.
