Overview
What you will do:
Responsible for the development and implementation of the Recreational/Activity program. Works closely with the treatment team to assess patients and develop therapeutic goals according to individual patient needs. Participates in activities with patients incorporating basic therapeutic recreational knowledge and skill. Assists in diagnosis and evaluation. Aids in adjustment to hospital. Provides outlets for hostility, aggression and other emotions. Endorses personal habits which promote wellness, reinforces patient/family teaching in recreational activities.
What you will need:
- Must be a High School Diploma or GED Diploma Graduate
- Bachelor’s degree in therapeutic recreation or major in recreation and an option in therapeutic recreation
- Preferably one year experience in a clinical recreation program in a hospital setting
- Current Therapeutic Recreation Certificate by the NCTRC
- First Aide preferred
- Current certification in CPR
- Basic Water Safety
- Current Georgia Driver’s License
