Overview
Supports Atrium Health’s social impact strategy by assisting teammates experiencing acute social needs by helping connect them to internal and external resources. Works in partnership with internal programs and external community organizations to make referrals and provide assistance that allows teammates’ immediate needs to be met.
Job Summary
Supports the development, alignment, execution and evaluation of community and social impact (CSI) strategies from conception to maturation/implementation. Works in partnership with leaders in designing and implementing Atrium Health's community and social impact strategy and action plan to achieve defined goals. Cultivates long term relationships that influence Atrium Health’s reputation, awareness, and social and health impact with teammates, patients, and community partners. Implements and activate plans in line with best practices and Atrium Health’s core values, mission, priorities, and overall business strategy.
Essential Functions
- Assist Advocate Health teammates and strategic contract partners by providing direct client facing advice and guidance on accessing established and emerging Advocate Health programs and related opportunities including, but not limited to Help NOW, Emergency Care Fund, HOPE Housing and Benefits Clif
- Build strong relationships with teammates, strategic internal leaders and external partners
- Provide insight on needed solutions for teammate non-medical urgent needs, with special emphasis on food insecurity, housing affordability and homelessness prevention, safety, employment and economic mobility, digital inclusion, and basic economic needs.
- Create and support relationships with community-based organizations and for-profit partners outside of Advocate Health working to improve social conditions in communities where Advocate Health provides care, including especially in priority social impact areas related to food insecurity, affordable housing, safety, career development, digital inclusion, and basic economic needs.
- Comprehensively track and report services provided to teammates.
- Support marketing efforts of programs through on-site visits, events and speaking engagements
- Supports the development of an execution model from creation, distribution, management, and implementation.
- Participates in reporting on related and respective programs using defined key performance indicators.
- Maintains and utilizes tracking tools to provide full record of activities, to compile data, and to develop reports.
- Retrieves, tests, measures, evaluates, and recommends insight research to ensure effectiveness of community and social impact results.
- Develops key performance indicators that are measurable in design and execution in collaboration with leadership.
- Participates in meetings, events, symposiums, or initiatives that cross both social impact, community engagement and responsibility, and enterprise community involvement by providing regular updates, identifying challenges, and reporting on a project plan.
- Benchmarks in professional literature and statistically evaluate social impact effectiveness and result of social impact campaigns according to recognized metrics.
- Reenforces the organization’s brand identity and guidelines.
- Works collaboratively with other internal departments.
Serves as a representative for Atrium Health on committees
Physical Requirements
Requires reading, comprehending, editing and designing materials. Requires clear and effective communication.
Education, Experience and Certifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field such as public relations, public health, human service-related communications, or marketing, business, or public policy.
3 years of experience required in community relations, non-profit management, corporate giving, or corporate responsibility. Familiarity with corporate social responsibility programs, community organizations, programs, and nonprofit groups.
Additional Experience
- Experience in addressing needs of clients from beginning to end
- Demonstrated experience addressing the social drivers of health; previous work engagements addressing access to food, affordable housing, and safety for underserved populations desirable
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent self-direction and time management skills
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple clients at once
- Knowledge and experience with Winston-Salem Market community organizations and support programs (includes Forsyth, Guilford, Lexington, and Wilkes Counties)
- Minimum 2+ years in direct client facing support services to vulnerable populations; including assessment of need, identification of available resources and supportive connection to programming Understanding of community non-profits and service programs available to support individuals. Resourceful attitude with demonstrated ability to identify solutions to support individuals in need. Ability to approach difficult situations with patience and empathy. Strong time management skills. Strong levels of empathy.
