FLSA Status: Nonexempt Original Date: October 1990 Last Revision: January 2018 JOB SUMMARY: Provides high quality, comprehensive therapeutic direct and indirect care for the patient, which is supportive of the care given by the Physical/Occupational Therapy Department. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or GED equivalent. One-year experience with patients preferred. Two years college with classes in anatomy, exercise physiology or health and sports science preferred. LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, and/or REGISTRATION: CPR Certification. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Assists with patient care treatment under the supervision of a licensed physical or occupational therapist to meet the goals and needs of the patient. 2. Provides appropriate patient care in accordance with age/developmental guidelines. 3. Communicates in a professional manner with patients, physicians, and staff. 4. Performs various administrative, inventory, and organizational duties to meet the needs of the department. 5. Promotes professional growth and provides community education and/or committee representation. 6. Maintains safe and clean treatment areas.
