Overview

Job Summary

Participates in curriculum planning, implementation, and evaluation activities as well as instruction in the classroom, clinical, and/ laboratory setting according to program philosophy, organizing structure, objectives and policies.



Essential Functions
 

  • Implements current traditional and innovative teaching methodologies in accordance with objectives in classroom, clinical, and/or laboratory setting.
  • Prepares and presents theory presentations based on curriculum grid, course outline, and objectives.
  • Participates in comprehensive evaluation process for courses, students, and curriculum and makes recommendations for revision.
  • Participates in curriculum and course planning and implements curriculum as designed.
  • Assumes responsibilities for maintaining office hours, as noted in the program's workload policy, and being available to students for conference, serving as a resource to colleagues and serving as an advisor to assigned students.
  • Maintains clinical and professional competence as indicated for the responsibilities assigned.
  • Serves as a role model to students, faculty, and other personnel.
  • Actively participates in faculty/teammates, designated committee meetings and in student and college functions.
  • Utilizes information, technology, and instructional equipment competently.
  • Maintains professional level of confidentiality in all aspects of job performance.

 

Physical Requirements
 

 

Requires mobility needed to access classrooms, offices, and a variety of clinical areas. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Requires some exposure to communicable diseases, bio-hazardous materials, and other conditions common to the clinical environment. Requires sitting: including typing, telephone communication, inter- and intra-departmental discussion. Responsible for working in a safe manner.



Education, Experience and Certifications
 

Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred. Possess appropriate professional credentials and current unencumbered certification in the professional discipline related to the course is required. 5 years experience and prior teaching at college level is preferred.
