Overview

Growing Women’s Health Service is recruiting a full-time Certified Nurse Midwife for full-scope practice. This position will include outpatient OB/GYN in one of our four clinics and inpatient care at our main campus birth center. This CNM will assess women in OB triage in addition to managing intrapartum and postpartum care. Our team, which includes CNMs, APPs, and physicians, works together in a collaborative practice environment to provide exceptional care to women of this community. At our large educational health system, it is expected that you educate varied learners and work alongside resident physicians. This position does include weekends, holidays, and night calls to be shared within the CNM team.  

Work responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Gynecologic and Obstetrical care in the clinic 
  • Triage women presenting to the Birth Center 
  • Labor management 
  • Ability to first assist in OR for cesarean sections (if trained in school) 
  • Circumcision (strongly preferred or willing to train) 
  • Perform procedures as approved on your privileges form.  
  • Postpartum rounding includes education and discharge planning. 
  • Flexibility to work weekend, holidays and nights to provide 24/7 coverage at the Birth Center; work will be equally divided amongst the CNM team 
  • Work an average of 40 hours per week doing inpatient or outpatient care 
  • Attend department and sectional meetings as scheduled. 
  • Provide patient care and interact with health care team in a professional manner. 
  • Education of varied learners. 

CNM Job requirements include: 

  • Master’s degree in Nurse Midwifery 
  • Licensure as both an RN and CNM in the state of North Carolina 
  • DEA License  
  • BLS, ACLS, and NRP certified 
  • Submission of CNM transcript 
  • CNM experience preferred Skills and Qualifications: 
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills. 
  • Flexibility to provide coverage across the department as deemed necessary by leadership. 
  • Conduct yourself in a professional manner at all times.  
  • Ability to perform other related duties other than those described.
