The Pediatric Cancer and Blood Disorders Program at Levine Children's Hospital in Charlotte, NC is looking for a Pediatric Advanced Care Practitioner to join their Cellular Therapies (CT)/Blood and Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) APP team. This APP will function within a multidisciplinary team that provides comprehensive care for children and young adults undergoing, or who have received, a bone marrow or stem cell transplant and/or immune effector cell therapy. 

 

About the Opportunity: 

  • Collaboratively manage patients under the general supervision of the attending physician, on a fast-paced pediatric stem cell transplant service. Shared coverage responsibilities between in and out patient. 
  • Lead family centered multidisciplinary rounds, provides bedside care, and manages admissions and discharges to the inpatient BMT unit
  • Provides continuity of care for patients and families in the outpatient BMT clinic 
  • Perform procedures such as lumbar punctures with instillation of intrathecal chemotherapy and bone marrow aspirates and biopsies 
  • Provides coverage on a rotating basis in our infusion suite 
  • Participate in quality improvement and committees
  • Follow evidence based practice/SOPs/FACT requirements 
  • Provider group of 4 physicians, and 3 advanced practice providers 
  • Schedule: 40 hr weeks. Rotation in 3 week blocks between in and out patient. 13-hour shifts while inpatient, 9-hour shifts while outpatient. Every third weekend and holiday coverage on a rotation. 

 

Position Requirements:

  • Experience as an advanced practice provider preferred, but not required 
  • Bone Marrow Transplant or Heme Onc experience is preferred, but not required 
  • Physician's Assistants and Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (must be acute care certified)
