Job Summary:

Requirements:

 

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Certified Nurse Aide I (CNA I) in North Carolina.
  • Minimum of two years' CNA I experience preferred.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required.
  • Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition, and Stabilization (PEARS) may be required in select areas within one year.

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Patient Assistance: Aid medical staff in patient preparation, examinations, and procedures.
  • Nursing Support: Implement the nursing process by providing direct patient care under RN or LPN guidance.
  • Room Preparation: Set up, clean, and restock examination rooms, prepare equipment, and maintain treatment areas.
  • Communication: Ensure complete, accurate, and timely patient information exchange.
  • Specimen Collection: Collect and process specimens for diagnostic testing.
  • Medical Record: Document patient care according to medical center policy.
  • Point of Care Testing: Perform and maintain competency for point-of-care testing, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
  • Effective Communication: Communicate effectively with the healthcare team, colleagues, patients, and families.
  • Personal Responsibility: Take personal responsibility and initiative for performance and professional growth.
  • Age-Specific Care: Provide age/developmental appropriate patient care.
  • Infection Control: Comply with infection prevention policies and handle infectious materials appropriately.
  • Mission Alignment: Follow the medical center's mission, vision, and values.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other related duties as assigned.
