Education/Experience/Certifications to Qualify: 

  • Baccalaureate Degree in Medical Technology, Biological, Chemical or Physical Sciences. 
  • Three years of experience in a Clinical Lab preferred 
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Medical Technologist (ASCP) or equivalent certification preferred

Essential Functions: 

  • Assists in the technical operations of the laboratory section. 
  • Assists in the efficient and effective supervision of the laboratory section. 
  • Assists in providing timely responses to management directives according to departmental practice.
  • Assists in assuring maximum care in safety and identification procedures involving patients, samples and laboratory working conditions. 
  • Assists in providing practical clinical training to lab personnel and students. 
  • Exhibits and promotes the professional image of laboratories in accordance with hospital, department, and professional society philosophies, goals and standards of laboratory testing.
