Position Highlights: 

  • Shift Schedule: Monday – Friday 8a-4:30p, with periodic rotation for on-call, weekends, and holidays
  • Sign-On Bonus: $15,000 sign on bonus, provided the candidate meets the eligibility requirements.
  • Relocation Assistance: Up to $3,000, provided the candidate meets the distance requirements.
  • Location: Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, Winston-Salem Campus – Brenner Children’s Hospital

What You’ll Need:

  • Associate Degree from an AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology or Ultrasound Course, or CMA accredited Diagnostic Ultrasound program
  • Valid Sonographer Registration, RDMS or RDCS Credentials accepted – required to be registered within 1 year of hire & in Cardiology Specialties within 2 years of hire

Preferred Experience and Abilities:  

  • 1-3 years of echo experience is preferred. Fetal echo experience is a plus.  
  • Proficient in all modalities of Pediatric Echocardiography including 2-D, M-mode, CW/PW doppler, tissue doppler and have a working knowledge of pediatric heart disease and surgical repair. 

Job Responsibilities (include, but are not limited to): 

  • Performs all aspects of Cardiac ultrasound for noninvasive pediatric cardiology services.  
  • Echocardiograms: performs transthoracic echocardiograms and assists with Cath lab procedures as well as transesophageal echocardiograms of pediatric and adult congenital patients  
  • Patient care: Demonstrates competence in delivering patient care. BLS required. 
  • Consultation: Able to provide feedback and collaborate with Pediatric Cardiologists regarding pediatric echocardiograms.  
  • Patient documentation: Records and monitors patient information  
  • Enters data necessary for charge entry and prepares preliminary reports. 
  • Performs daily clinical operations including exams, covering off site clinics, and call.  
  • Maintain routine cleaning and maintenance on echo machines.
