Overview
JOB SUMMARY:
Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist is seeking a compassionate and dedicated full time Pediatric Eating Disorder Psychologist or therapist to provide specialized therapeutic services to children and adolescents diagnosed with eating disorders.
This role requires a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by this patient population.
You will be working closely on a team that includes an Adolescent Medicine specialist who has expertise in eating disorders.
Qualifications:
1. Master’s or Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology, LMHCs, or a related field.
2. Licensure to practice in North Carolina
3. Specialized training or certification in eating disorder treatment or willing to obtain certification
4. Prior experience working with pediatric or adolescent populations preferred.
5. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
6. A compassionate and patient-centered approach.
7. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct comprehensive assessments to determine the nature and extent of the eating disorder and any coexisting conditions.
2. Design, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans that incorporate therapeutic strategies, nutritional guidance, and family involvement.
3. Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, including adolescent medicine physicians, and hospitalist to ensure holistic care.
4. Educate patients and their families on the nature of eating disorders, recovery processes, and strategies to support sustained recovery.
5. Stay updated with the latest research and evidence-based interventions in pediatric eating disorder treatment.
6. Document and maintain detailed and accurate patient records in compliance with privacy regulations.
7. Participate in teaching activities, which includes occasional didactic presentations for trainees and community providers at AHWFB.
