Overview

JOB SUMMARY

Under general supervision, the data analyst will collect and analyze clinical data for research projects.  Clinical data are entered onto platforms such as REDCap and study databases.  The position ensures that  the data collection sources are accurate. Job duties include examining data, entering data, auditing data, and using statistical software for analysis. The position requires effective communication skills. The successful applicant must have have outstanding organizational skills and exhibit attention to detail. This position will be required to create presentations on research data and may be required to travel.  The position will report to the Program Manager and PI.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree in Social Science, Education, or Public Health; Master’s degree preferred or, an equivalent combination of experience and education including training in research methodology, computerized data processing, and/or interviewing techniques. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Performs duties involved in the collection, analysis and documentation of data in support of research and information-gathering activities. 
  2. Participates in research and evaluation activities. Edits collected data and performs follow-up activities. 
  3. Assists in the design and testing of questionnaires, data input sheets, and other data collection mechanisms. 
  4. Participates in the coding of data in preparation for computer operations. 
  5. Coordinates the collection and organization of materials and data used in research reports, publications, and program descriptions. 
  6. Assists in data analyses and preparation of charts, graphs, and reports obtained from research data. 
  7. May perform fieldwork for data collection, on assigned research projects. 
  8. Establishes and coordinates interviews and conducts interviews with participants, family members, and the public for data collection. 
  9. Assists individuals in filling out preliminary forms and questionnaires and answers questions as required. 
  10. Performs other duties as assigned.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Clean, comfortable, office environment
  • Some travel required
  • Ability to work hours outside of normal Monday-Friday, 8-5 p.m. schedule as required
