Overview
What You Will Do
Plans, manages, and facilitates all aspects of the Radiology Departments Quality / Safety and Accreditation Programs.
Responsible for planning, managing, and maintaining the Radiology Department on-going staff education and orientation programs.
Has general responsibilities for departmental quality goals and outcome monitoring, quality management projects, patient and safety initiatives including radiation safety, staff education, quality, and safety reporting. Management of departmental work instructions, maintaining compliance with standards, including DNV, Federal, state, and local, conducting quality audits, data management and reporting and other responsibilities as needs arise.
Facilitates orientation of all new staff to position and department. Manages documentation/compliance records on staff development, continuing education, mandatory education in-service training and educational activities/requirements. Establishes mechanisms to audit mandatory department compliance and shares findings with leaders for response / action.
Coordinates and documents all equipment QC and repairs. Maintains imaging equipment QC and QA records, repairs, PMs, and physicist recommendations. Keeps an up-to-date inventory of all imaging equipment. Responsible for maintaining compliance with state, federal, and DNV requirements.
Assess, plans, implements, and evaluates educational activities for the department based upon documented needs assessments. Incorporates performance improvement findings for educational offerings.
Oversees the development, implementation, and monitoring of Radiology QA processes and programs. Collects data from multiple sources, performs analysis and presents to key stakeholders, with recommendations. Coordinates with technical and medical staff to evaluate performance improvement opportunities and develop solutions. Prepares Monthly Imaging Service’s monthly dashboard in conjunction with Enterprise. Design, prepare, and collaborates in reporting Navicent Market Data for outcome measures, trends, and goal attainment. Represents the Radiology Department at assigned committees, task forces, and activities.
Maintains radiation monitoring databases, prepares reports for internal and external stakeholders. Reports problems and solutions to Radiation Safety Committee. Coordinates and documents all lead PPE in AHN Imaging, excluding Cath Lab, maintaining master list for PPE inventory. A member of HAZMAT committee providing quarterly and annual dosimetry and lead PPE reports to the Chairperson. Acts as liaison between Radiation Safety and HAZMAT committees.
Maintains current records of hospital and departmental policies, procedures, and makes revisions as needed to ensure policies and procedures are kept up to date.
Works internally and externally with AHN facilities to maintain the highest quality image standards. Maintains Imaging Quality and Patient Safety data on employees, including, corrective action plans and education required. Acts as a liaison between technical schools and Radiology Department.
