The CMC Family Medicine Residency Program and Department of Family Medicine are recruiting an Associate Program Director to join our residency program in Charlotte, NC.  Passion for teaching and dedication to the training of medical students, resident physicians, and fellows are required for this position.

 Highlights about the position include:

  • Join a team of multiple attendings, residents, fellows, support staff, care management, social work, pharmacy, and behavioral health
  • Provide clinical care in a variety of settings including outpatient primary care, prenatal care, bread and butter family medicine procedures, inpatient pediatric and adult medicine, telehealth, and home visits
  • Teach principles of family medicine to medical students, residents, and fellows
  • Clinical Faculty appointment with the Wake Forest School of Medicine
  • Opportunities for research within the Department’s highly productive research division and across the enterprise
  • Engage in leadership opportunities as one of 3 APDs for a prestigious residency program

 Ideal candidate: 

  • Board-certified family medicine physician with previous academic experience is preferred
  • Skilled in providing primary care to patients in a variety of clinical settings 
  • Strong passion for working with undeserved, patient populations
  • Engagement in community medicine with focus on training physicians of tomorrow committed to the health of their communities 
  • Strong communication skills with patients, families, trainees, and interdisciplinary team members
  • Leadership skills to support clinical programs, training programs, and enhance functioning of interdisciplinary teams
