Manager - Simulation and Skills Lab

Overview

Job Summary

Provides student instruction; maintains day-to-day operations of the Nursing Skills Lab.

Essential Functions

• Facilitates student learning by providing instruction and evaluation for students in the skills lab.
• Continually develops knowledge of pedagogy, the academic discipline, program management, and as appropriate the clinical profession.
•  Contributes to the improvement of community through service to college and broader community.
• Develops, implements, and monitors program budgets and policies and procedures to guide and support the program.

Physical Requirements

• Normal or corrected auditory and visual acuity. 
• Able to use standard office equipment, including computers.
• Environment is climate controlled with occasional exposure to inclement weather when travelling between buildings. 
• Occasional travel to other locations

Education, Experience and Certifications

• Demonstrates a high level of competence in teaching and related activities. 
• Minimum of master’s degree in nursing required. 
• Current or eligible NC RN license required. 
• Minimum of 2 years full time clinical experience as a RN required. 
• If not completed, must complete one of the following within 3 years of hire: 
  • Completion of 45 contact hours of approved course by the North Carolina Board of Nursing. 
  • Completion of a certificate program in nursing education.
  • 9 semester hours of graduate education course work.
  • National certification in nursing education.
