Job Summary
Analyze calls for service, incidents, crime statistics, and other data to identify trends and patterns for the ultimate purpose of making risk-rationalized recommendations for the best deployment of resources and mitigation strategies to contribute to the safest environment possible at Advocate Health Sites and surrounding areas. Knowledge derived from analysis will also be shaped into products which inform decision-making in the areas of security/public safety policies, training, Behavioral Threat Assessment and Management, use of force incidents, access control, command center operations, and investigations.
Essential Functions
- Perform independent analysis of criminal activity and relevant incident reports at Advocate Health sites and surrounding areas. Design, establish, maintain, and exploit databases to create predictive tools to reduce/prevent criminal activity. Prepare periodic statistical, evaluative, and predictive reports and presentations to communicate findings derived from analysis with a focus on maturing Data to Knowledge.
- Analyze calls for service, incidents, crime statistics, Behavioral Threat Assessment and Management, use of force incidents, and other data – to include anomaly analysis in the areas of access control, purchasing, consumption, shipping, receiving, pharmacy distribution, and medical device utilization -- to identify trends, patterns, and reconcile irregularities in partnership with internal investigative resources.
- Ensure data integrity for assigned key performance indicators and success measures.
- Make recommendations to Public Safety leaders related to the effective deployment (asset, location, time) of department personnel and resources, to include continuously assessing the need and effectiveness for fixed posts, standing patrol routes, directed patrols, security technologies, and security processes & procedures.
- Scope includes assisting investigative efforts, identifying process improvement opportunities, making policy recommendations, identifying training needs, and providing substantive input to the departments' crime prevention and security awareness programs.
- Collaborate with Open-Source, Program, Financial, and Strategy/Business Intelligence analysts to create products, assessments and/or estimates in fulfillment of organizational needs.
- Achieve subject matter expertise level proficiency on the full capabilities of Records Management System (RMS) and Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) System.
- Participate in assessing and documenting security needs of system facilities based on threat/risk analysis and countermeasure identification. Contribute to site vulnerability assessments and mitigation.
- Interact with city, regional, state, and federal law enforcement agencies on cross-jurisdictional issues, as applicable. May be assigned to joint task forces, fusion teams, or other like work groups.

Education, Experience and Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Applied Intelligence, or related field
- Typically requires 3 years of experience in crime or intelligence analysis
