Overview

Job Summary

Oversees the program for the college. In addition to performing duties of a faculty member, oversees the development and implementation of the program curriculum in accordance with the school philosophy, accreditation standards, and within budgetary allocations.

Essential Functions

  • Promotes the college's core values and standards of excellence through teamwork, caring, commitment to our mission and values, integrity, respectful communication, maintenance of a safe and professional environment, synergistic partnership with those we serve, and anticipation of students, colleagues, and customers needs.
  • Collaborates with the director of the school to develop and implement a quality academic program.
  • Coordinates the student's clinical experience.
  • Collaborates with the director to evaluate the overall effectiveness of course(s) activities, department/college policies, and overall departmental communication.

Physical Requirements

Moderate lifting, pulling, pushing, and carrying. Lifting of weights up to 25 pounds and infrequently in excess of 25 pounds with assistance. Frequent walking, standing, stooping, and reaching. Use of computer for long periods of time. General hospital environment with some exposure to chemicals, pathogens, and patient blood and body fluids. Some latex exposure may be expected.

Education, Experience and Certifications
 

  • Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred. 
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in histotechnology.
