The Pediatric Cancer and Blood Disorders Program at Levine Children's Hospital in Charlotte, NC is looking for a Pediatric Advanced Care Practitioner to join their outpatient APP team. The outpatient APP will function within a multidisciplinary team that provides comprehensive care for children and young adults with various oncologic and hematologic diagnoses in our Atrium Health Levine Children’s Hospital. 

About the Opportunity: 

• Manages pediatric patients with leukemia and lymphoma diagnoses in our outpatient clinic. Obtains accurate patient history and performs physical examinations in the outpatient setting. 
• Implements evidence based medicine as outlined by best practice guidelines, and assigned patient treatment protocols 
• Writes chemotherapeutic order sets. Prescribes medications, manages side effects, and monitors for toxicities.
• Performs diagnostic and surveillance intraoperative procedures such as lumbar punctures with instillation of intrathecal chemotherapy, bone marrow aspirates and bone marrow biopsies 
• Provides care to hematology/oncology patients as well as pediatric subspecialty patients in our pediatric infusion center. 
• Participate in quality improvement work and committees
• Provider group of 14 physicians, and 15 advanced practice providers 
• Schedule: weekend coverage on a rotation 

Position Requirements:

• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as Advanced Practice Provider required. 
• Hematology/Oncology APP experience required if non acute care certified PNP 
• Physician's Assistants and Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (must be acute care certified)
