This exciting opportunity awaits you at our Lexington Medical Center campus, where you will assume a pivotal role in overseeing our dedicated Surgical Services team and helping shape the future of exceptional patient care.

 

Position Highlights:

  • Relocation Assistance: This position qualifies for relocation assistance, provided the candidate meets eligibility requirements
  • Shift Schedule: 8-hour days, Monday-Friday.
  • Department: Surgical Services – Includes: OR, PACU, Sterile Processing, Pre/Post Op, Outpatient, PAT Clinic, Endoscopy and Radiology
  • Location: Lexington Medical Center – Lexington, NC

What You’ll Need:

  • Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing, MSN or Masters in related field OR currently enrolled in a MSN/Master's in related field with a term limitation, from date of appointment, not to exceed two years, with demonstrated progression of fulfillment of educational requirements within that timeframe. 
  • Six years of experience in nursing with four years in related healthcare management required. 
  • Registered Nurse licensure from the State of North Carolina 
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required 
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within 1 year of hire for Adult Critical Care, Adult ED Pediatric 
  • Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within 1 year of hire for Network ED, Peds ED, PICU and NICU, and other areas per unit guidelines 

 

What You’ll Do:

Be the driving force of clinical and administrative excellence within Surgical Services, encompassing quality assurance, service excellence, workplace experience, and financial efficacy. Cultivate an environment of patient-centric professionalism through the implementation of the Theory of Human Caring, the nursing process, staff development and collaborative team interactions.

Responsibilities of the Nurse Manager include, but are not limited to: 

  1. Leadership and Goal Attainment: Lead and inspire staff to achieve goals, aligning with our Mission, Vision, Core Values, and Evidence-based practices, while ensuring ongoing development and performance standards.
  2. Effective Collaboration Foster collaboration across the organization, serving as a key resource and promoting effective communication among staff and departments.
  3. Integrated Care Coordination: Coordinate nursing care, integrating services throughout the care continuum, and uphold the quality of healthcare delivery.
  4. Safety and Quality Culture: Drive a safety and quality culture in conjunction with the Director of Nursing and Medical Director, overseeing the Care Delivery Model and enhancing outcomes.
  5. Patient-Centered Care: Ensure patient-centered care, respecting rights and preferences, maintaining privacy and confidentiality, and empowering staff through shared governance.
  6. Strategic Resource Management: Collaborate on budgetary processes, optimizing resources based on benchmarks and patient needs for cost-effective care.
  7. Professional Development and Relationship Building: Cultivate a professional environment, nurturing staff growth aligned with Shared Governance, Theory of Human Caring, and mutual respect principles.
  8. Exemplifying Professional Nursing Practice: Exhibit commitment to professional nursing practice, adhering to standards, continuing education, and advocating for patients' well-being.
  9. Patient-Centric Expertise: Deliver tailored patient care, utilizing clinical expertise to meet specific population needs and maintaining competency.
