Atrium Health’s Sanger Heart & Vascular Institute – Pineville, part of Atrium Health, is currently seeking an Interventional Adult Cardiologist to join their established practice in Pineville, NC and provide quality care to the patients we serve in their respective communities. Our team includes 4 interventionalists at Atrium Pineville, and a total of 14 interventional cardiologists in the Sanger practice (spanning a total of 4 hospitals in the greater Charlotte region). Additionally, 3 dedicated interventional cardiology Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), and various other clerical support staff are part of our service.

Practice Highlights: 

• The Atrium Pineville Cath Labs have 4 current interventional cardiologists who are busy with direct patient care spanning outpatient and inpatient, performing over 900 coronary interventions annually 
• Additionally, the practice features 24/7 cath lab care with an average of q4 interventional cardiology call and every 4th weekend on call for interventional cardiology/STEMI only 
• No general cardiology call 
• Both inpatient and outpatient interventional cardiovascular care is supported by multiple dedicated APPs M-F 
• All interventional procedures are offered, including a MCS ‘shock team’ with VA ECMO care, a very busy structural heart practice (this position will not include any structural heart procedures), and on-site cardiac surgery service 
• Academic appointment at Wake Forest University Medical School, Charlotte with full access to all that the institution provides

• Atrium Pineville is a 278-bed facility located in Pineville, NC with easy access to Charlotte shopping, restaurants and other amenities along with easy access to recreation
• Campus features a new state-of-the-art bed tower with a general cardiology floor, step-down unit, and cardiac ICU 
• There are 16 cardiologists at this practice including specialists in advanced heart failure, imaging, and electrophysiology

Qualified candidates should be: 

• Board Eligible/Board Certified in Cardiovascular Disease and Interventional Cardiology 
• Skilled in complex coronary artery disease therapies and high-risk cases (CHIP) including MCS-supported interventions 
• Interest in PERT/catheter-based PTE care 
• Eager to work in a top center in a big, growing city with a high-volume practice
